10.9 Extended Diagnostic Possibilities
Monitoring Function
Brief Description
Note: The so-called "monitoring function" implemented in the drive is
for internal use only or can be used as an extended
possibility of diagnosis in the case of error.
The monitoring function makes the following possibilities available:
• displaying memory ranges
• changing storage locations
• writing/reading EEPROM memory cells (controller and encoder)
• adjusting analog measured values
• displaying internal system states
• executing several test routines for software and hardware
Note: Using the monitoring function requires a VT100 terminal, an
ANSI terminal or a corresponding emulation. It is
recommended to have a 132-column display.
Notes on Commissioning/Operation
Connection to the drive is realized via the serial interface. The setting has
to be made in accordance with the parameterization of the serial interface
in the drive (parameters P-0-4021, P-0-4025, P-0-4095).
Default settings of the serial interface:
• 9600 baud
• 8 data bits
• no parity
• 1 stop bit
• hardware protocol
After starting the terminal (Windows hyper terminal) and the drive, there
isn’t any output appearing on the terminal.
In order to establish connection to the drive, the following input is
required:
- BCD:<drive address>
The drive address corresponds to the number set in parameter P-0-4025
(or can be read on the display, default address in "99"). The drive now
responds with:
"E<drive address>:>"
Note: After the input there isn’t any "echo" appearing on the terminal
(i.e. the input is invisible when the local echo of the terminal
was disabled).
