The K2012 Wiegand Interface connects between another technology
reader (with a Wiegand output) and the K2200 and K1200 Series Door
Controllers, the K6300-PC, or the K6100-PC Desktop Administration Kit.
The K2012 converts a 26-bit Wiegand reader’s data into a format
compatible with a reader’s signal output. Include the K2012 into
applications with more than one Wiegand device on the same line or into
applications using K2100 and K1100 Door Controller Series devices with
Wiegand devices.
Features
Dual-color diagnostic LEDs
Tamper switch
Functions
Dual-color Diagnostic LED
When turned on, the LED flashes rapidly five times immediately
followed by five additional half-second pulses before the LED settles
into its normal operation flash pattern. During normal operation, the
LED pulses green once every second. When a card is presented and is
correctly read, the LED flash frequency increases for a period of one to
two seconds. This indicates that the code has been read and sent, but
not that access will be granted. If a tamper condition is sensed, the
LED will pulse red once every second until the tamper condition is
corrected.
Tamper Switch
When you open the K2012 cover, a spring tamper switch on the board
indicates a tamper condition through the dual-color diagnostic LED. In
a tamper condition state, the K2012 does not allow the reader to
function.
Installation/Configuration Notes
The wire length from the door controller to the K2012 is up to 3000 ft
(914m) when using 18 AWG (1.2 mm) cable.
