K2015B ALARM EVENT MANAGER
14
The K2015B Alarm Event Manager (AEM) controls and monitors other
equipment and systems on site.
The K2015B AEM is an optional device that connects a 2200/1200 door
controller and a reader. It can monitor up to eight inputs and provide eight
relay outputs. The type of door controller and the type of administration
system used determines the response to the inputs and the control of the
relay outputs.
Specific events activate the relay outputs on the K2015B to control a
variety of equipment. For example, you can activate a security camera,
turn lights on or off, or disarm an intrusion panel. You can also use these
relays for elevator control.
The inputs can also monitor equipment with a normally-open (NO) or
normally-closed (NC) contact point. For example, you can monitor
emergency exit doors, glass breaks, flood detection, and perimeter gates.
Features
Selectable two- or four-state inputs
Eight LED relay indicators
Auxiliary 12 V nominal power supply port
Eight supervised inputs, normally-open (NO) or normally-closed (NC)
Eight latched relay outputs
Steel case with tamper protection
Diagnostic display
Functions
Supervised Input: All eight inputs are fully supervised and jumper-
selectable for two- or four-state inputs. For the two-state setting no
resistors are required and only the states normal and active can be
detected.
For the four-state setting end-of-line resistors (EOL) are required and
normal, active, short (trouble), and open (tamper) states can be
detected.
Latched Relay Outputs: Each relay has a common (C), normally-
closed (NC) and normally-open (NO) contact. The relay activation time,
delay, or time limit depends on the type of door controller and the type
of administration system used. Note: Relays five to eight are only
available to systems administered by software.
Tamper Protection: Two options for tamper detection are provided:
1. A spring switch that opens when the cover is removed
2. A pair of terminals that may be taken to an external, normally
closed (NC) tamper switch.
Diagnostic Display: A diagnostic function is built-in to the K2015B
AEM. Press a button to view a two-digit display and determine the
status of each input, the tamper switch, and each relay.
Auxiliary Power Supply: The 12 V auxiliary power supply is
designed to attach equipment requiring no more than 50 mA within
32.8 ft (10 m) cable distance from the AEM. For more power or
distance use a separate power supply.
Installation/Configuration Notes
Place the K2015B AEM at any point between the door controller and
reader or other equipment. The cable distance between the door controller
and K2015B AEM must be less than 1500 ft (450 m).
